The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff at West River Health Campus for their wonderful care of Don. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, where the Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military rites. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at Corpus Christi Church at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 24th with a showing before at 10am. A Memorial Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 23rd at Pierre Funeral Home from 3:00 until 7:00 PM. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. He is predeceased by his parents Leo and Marge Haller, sister Suzie Wildt (Gil), and Aunt Dorothy Schettler. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Paula (Winstead) Haller, and his children, Mike Haller, Andrea Hibbard, Lacy Bender (Jeff), Rhonda Hughart, and Connie Rayburn his grandchildren Phoenix Hibbard, Zoe Hibbard, Cora Bender, Avery Bender, Lee Haller, Breanna Haller (Richard), Amy Tobey (Keith), Brad Hughart, John Rayburn (Casey), Megan Wesley (Brian), and Claire Elder (Matt) his 12 great-grandchildren and his brother Rick Haller (Lisa). He will forever be in our hearts and on our minds. He enjoyed life to its fullest and loved spending time with his family.

He was his grandkids’ biggest fan at all their sporting events. He was the biggest cheerleader at his daughters’ Mater Dei volleyball games, always leading the crowd with a good ole “2 bits, 4 bits.” He enjoyed riding his Harley, taking golf cart rides around the neighborhood with his wife and their dog, Lou Lou, and watching NFL football games. He was energetic and loved going to the gym and lifting weights.

Don was known for being one sharply dressed man. He was a member of Corpus Christi Church, American Legion Post #0008, and River Bend Association. He served four years in the United States Air Force and retired from Alcoa after 39 years of service as a Maintenance Supervisor. He attended Sacred Heart grade school and graduated from Mater Dei High School Class of 1956. Don was born on Februin Evansville, IN to the late Leo and Marge Haller.

On Friday, August 19th, Donald Lee Haller, loving husband, brother, and father of five children, passed away at the age of 84.
